Hello, beautiful souls. I am back at the keyboard yet again. As the title suggests, today is my birthday. I spent the day so far laying in bed watching Hulu. It was very relaxing. I’m really trying to stay as relaxed as possible before my classes start again in August.Later on (it should probably be soon), I’m going to get up and get ready for dinner. (My mentor and friend told me that since it was my birthday, I at least had to go out to eat.) I chose a Japanese steakhouse. We’ll see how it goes. Now to the not so sweet part of my birthday. There are some people that I felt to be important in my life that have “forgotten” that today is my birthday. In today’s world, I find it VERY hard to believe that there were no notifications on their social media. I don’t think I would be so irritated if they hadn’t posted stories and statuses and the such on multiple platforms. With that being said, if you can’t even remember my birthday, then PLEASE make sure to forget my name when you ask me for my hard-earned money. Please forget my name when you want me to contribute my time and efforts towards YOUR projects. Please forget that I exist when your birthday comes along and you don’t hear or receive anything from me.Some may think that this is heartless. To those who think this, let me give you some insight on my character. I am a nice and giving person. If year 22 has taught me anything, it was that there are times when saying no and putting yourself first is more important than people’s hurt feelings at your expense. These same people have been using me up and hanging me out to dry until they want or need me to do something for them. I’m tired of being used and abused. If that bothers you, then maybe you should reconsider my blog as your reading choice.Forgiveness will come in time, but it will not be today. As I pour over my keyboard, I am very proud of what the last year has taught me. Year 23 will be even better. I guarantee it. With that being said, I am doing better with updating my blog. I’m hoping that I will be back once again before classes start and keep you all updated as the semester drags on.Before I go, I’d like to wish my aunt and uncle a happy anniversary. I’d also like to give a special thanks to everyone who did think of me and wish me a happy birthday. It just shows that not everyone takes me for granted.Until next time, beautiful souls….
